For almost twenty years, starting when I was a young teenager, I was vegan. I enjoyed it at the time, and was definitely very healthy. The diet agreed with me, and it was second nature. When I got pregnant with my second child though, I started to crave ice cream, and decided I was going to start eating dairy again. It was exciting! There was a whole new world of foods I could now explore. Cheeses were the most exciting. I started to pick up small amounts of different cheeses here and there, to test them out.
One of my favourites quickly became Brie. I wanted to make a post about my favourite way to enjoy it. It is super simple, and perfect for parties or last minute guests. Not gonna lie, I’ve prepared this for breakfast before! Although the toppings are sweet, it pairs fantastically with veggies and savoury crackers. Give it a try!
Best and Easiest Baked Brie
One wheel of Brie
1.5 tbsp butter
1.5 tbsp brown sugar
Handful of pecans
1.5 tbsp maple syrup
Pinch of salt
Crackers, apple slices, celery or other snacks for dipping
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees
Place your Brie in a baking dish, and add butter, brown sugar and pecans on top
Bake the Brie in the oven for 20 minutes or so, until it starts to brown and bulge
Remove from the oven and drizzle the maple sugar and salt on top
Serve hot with crackers, fruits, veggies or other snacks for dipping
If the entire wheel isn’t consumed, wrap it tightly and refrigerate. Reheat in the oven and enjoy again.
If you have the chance to give this a try, be sure to let me know how it goes, and thanks for stopping by!
Mmmm, this sounds FANTASTIC! I may be trying this next week… 🙂
