I love chocolate! It’s easily my favourite treat. I love all things chocolate. Milk and dark chocolate, sweet and bitter, it really doesn’t matter!
Truffles have always been one of my favourites. Sweetness, combined with bitter cocoa. What could be better. Turns out, a really great version can be made in your own kitchen, in a matter of minutes! Easily customizable to your own taste!
I like to use crushed Oreos or pistachios in mine. I have made these using pop rocks in the past, which the kids enjoyed! The proportions I use, give a solid, yet fudgy texture.
The recipe below makes approximately 15 balls 2-3 cms wide. Double or triple for more.
Easy, Homemade Truffles
- 1 cup chocolate of your choice
- 1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 6 tbsp chopped nuts or crushed cookies (optional)
- 3 tbsp cocoa
Melt chocolate and condensed milk on the stove top on low-medium heat, mix frequently
Remove from heat
If you’d like, add in your choice of nuts, cookie crumbs or candy
When mixture is cool enough to handle, use hands to roll into balls
Roll each in cocoa
Place in fridge until hardened
Can be stored at room temperature or refrigerated
These are an easy, but awesome, thing to serve if you are expecting guests. They can be made using white chocolate too.
